The rise of photography in the West had led to the region’s dominance over the field. While many Asian countries have strong traditions in photography, there seems to be a disparate gap – the dearth of information. In a region filled with diversity and life, photography here has largely been overshadowed by the three giants – Japan, China and Korea. Photographers across Asia are seldom known or heard outside of their own microcosms. With this blog, I hope to build a platform where such information is readily available.
Although I’m mostly interested in contemporary art photography and photojournalistic work, I will post work that I like. There would not be endless debacles and discussions on equipment or digital vs. analog here. Period.
If you would like to be showcased, please send a link or images in jpg/pdf (<2mb) to me at info[a]chngyaohong.com. I accept events-listing too.
