Hardly original - Who else thinks this is rather similar to the work of Disinformation "Fire in the Eye" created in 2004 on photographic film and movie film and toured internationally...

Up until recently i had not heard of Sugimoto, but after researching him for a paper i'm glad that i chose him instead of the usual large format photographers that students choose (Alec Soth, Ansel Adams). This series is definitely up there as far as some of my favorite shots of his. The one that really got my attention though was Installation View at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris, 2004. Words can not describe how that shot inspires me to take better photographs!!

I'm interested in the process - does he always work with traditional photographic processes?

@rondell i'm sorry that our tastes in photography differ so greatly. the baby pics r nice anyhow.

@allison it's more of an experiment of what u'd get if u exposed film to electricity. Awesome results eh?

@moonriver @james glad u guys appreciate these works! not wanting to sound like a fan boy but Sugimoto-san is truly amazing.
