Huang Xi

Huang Xi/Haeesoo is a freelance photographer from Fuzhou, China. His series, Fang Fang Cyclopedia, focuses on the life and fantasy of a single subject – Fang Fang. It’s an act of documenting the meaningless activities of our lives to uncover hidden (and sometimes surprising) truths.

The elements which built up the works have affinity to my life: the house I was born at, the girl I love, the streets I walk on everyday and everything I see and feel in this world. These are the elements existing for a long time but had been ignored before Fang Fang Cyclopedia, they didn’t disappear but went in deeply into my heart like a seed.
