Born in Shanghai, Yijun Liao obtained an MFA in Memphis and now resides in Brooklyn. Her latest series, Stills from Unseen Films, is a tribute to films that she has not seen. She pretends that the images are from real films, characters lost in thought and acting in roles that exist only in her mind.
