The Life of My Sisters

I’m slightly behind my posting but opening today at The Cathay Gallery is an exhibition, The Life of My Sisters, by Debby Ng and Edwin Koo. In collaboration with The Little Sisters Fund and asia! magazine, the photographers entered the lives of young Nepalese girls currently receiving help from the fund. The Little Sisters Fund provides long-term scholarships for economically disadvantaged girls in Asia. And in Nepal where only 28% of girls are literate, many fall prey to prostitution and child trafficking rings without essential skills.

The exhibition is curated by Tan Haur, a full-time art educator & artist.

The exhibition opens from 5 March to 30 April 2009 at The Cathay Gallery, 2 Handy Road, #02-16 The Cathay. It’s opened Mondays to Saturdays, 12 to 8pm.
