In 2006, Saiful Huq Omi was given the National Geographic All Roads Photography Project award for his work on the plight of political victims in his home country, Bangladesh.

Works by photojournalists who document strife and the plight of the voiceless serves as an important role in our world. It is up to the viewer to empathize or to disregard but the truth remains. The individual is reminded that he/she is still able to make a change or not.
