A pack of androgynous youths roaming the streets in the dark.
Raised as a Pack of Wolves is a visual narrative revolving around a family of youths who come together in support of each other where they fend for themselves in the wild. This series shows their attempts to establish familial ties during the awkwardness of adolescence, as they move about together like wolves on a hunt.

This series is a commissioned work for the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2009 by Singaporean artist Genevieve Chua. While the series is meant to be a somewhat literal narrative, the website’s design made it appear dreamlike as you can move between scenes in any direction.
The series started off well, piquing my interest with its moodiness and characters. Halfway through I got confused by the deus ex machina and site navigation. The series also reminded me of Ryan McGinley’s works, in clothes and without boys. Nevertheless, I think it’s cool that we’re able to see corporates commissioning artwork like this here.

I’m all for corporations supporting the arts. And I try to find the merit in any artwork. But the person who selected this “artist” for the company’s money should be sacked. What awful work it is. Randy
i find him to be one of the most interesting singaporean photographers around.
