Ohm Phanphiroj is a well-regarded art and fashion photographer from Thailand. His portraits are highly charged with intimacy and tension. I visited Whitespace Gallery where his Identity Crisis: Transsexual Series was on show. It featured triptychs of transsexuals and a short note on when they underwent their transformation. I found the images something to behold. The before and after effect was rather interesting.

glad you liked the show at whitespace, we didn’t really get a chance to talk about it before i rushed out to work.
you should post some images from the show if you can get to them …. the ones of the overweight girl was my favorite. he seems to capture the way that she hated her body and just felt so detached from it, like it wasn’t her own skin.
Hah I was thinking of keeping the site safe for work, plus you know about the strict censorship rules we have here. We end up self-censoring too much sometimes! Wish I had more time to talk to you…perhaps I’ll see you again soon. ;)
Gawd I love his photos. A pity I missed the exhibition. Should’ve kept up with my feeds reading when I was in Bangkok. D: You gotta post those show images!
